Lime Story

Lime Food Design is owned by sisters Kathryn Seal and Nicola Simpson, both of whose background is in event management.  Through their event work they needed a high end catering firm in the South of  England.  The goal was to create a boutique caterer producing fabulous tasting food whilst upholding the customer service, design  principles and environmental principles that the company was founded with.

The company and directors have won several awards in the last couple  of years.  Kathryn and Nicola have been nationally recognised Grazia Magazine and O2 Business Women of the Year finalists  and Kathryn is one of this year’s National Business Awards finalists  for ‘Essence of the Entrepreneur’ and Sussex Entrepreneur of the Year  two years running.  Locally the company has won the Small Business of  the Year and Overall Business of the Year awards.

They have been recognised as 18th event management company in the  country by our industry association and are on target with Lime Food  Design to be in the top 20 caterers in the country.

Lime are recognised as one of the best event and catering companies to work for in terms of training, staff incentive schemes, job sharing, motivation and fun!

Lime Food Design are completely different in their approach to event catering.  The menus are all bespoke and can be as diverse as your imagination allows.  The presentation and service of the food is second to none as the client testimonials reflect.

The Lime Food Design website enhance the company branding which includes pod casts; recipes; celebrity chef endorsements and book reviews as well as comments and blog member conversations.

Lime are targeting specialist potential clients such as being the preferred caterers for The Surrealist Association.  One of the events included cocktails in rubber gloves, waiting staff dressed in bowler hats and moustaches and a room full of balloons containing the canapés.  A logistic and creative nightmare – something they love!

One of the company priorities was to become preferred caterers for select venues.  There are now several local and London venues that are regularly serviced by the company including The Ministry of Sound in London and The Cass Foundation at Goodwood, West Sussex.  Through their venues they have catered for Channel 4 On Demand launch party; London Lite staff party and have several other high profile events in the diary.

Lime on Location is the recent addition to the Lime family providing a wide variety of high quality, tailored contract catering solutions to businesses and the hospitality sector.
